Solo

The constant presence of Daniela Spielmann in the main venues where quality Brazilian music can be found helped to establish her as a central figure in Rio de Janeiro's music scene. Her career as a soloist, developing in paralel with her sideman work took a great leap forward in 2001 when she recorded her first solo CD, Brazilian Breath, originally released by Aosis Records in Japan and the US, and by Rob Digital in Brasil. In nine tracks, two of them originals, Daniela found the perfect mix between technique and virtuosity. Yet the great treat on Brazilian Breath is the interpretive force of the artist, rounded out beautifully by the musicians who accompanied her, including names such as Romero Lubambo, Leandro Braga, Marco Pereira and Jorge Helder. Brazilian Breath was indicated for a Latin Grammy in the category of Best Latin Jazz CD.
