Considered one of the few Brazilian saxophonists on the scene today, the "carioca" (native of Rio de Janeiro) Daniela Spielmann is known for her intense participation in a variety of musical settings. Aside from being a member of the choro group Rabo de Lagartixa, the female trio Mulheres em Pixinguinha and the instrumental group Sincronia Carioca, Daniela released her first solo CD in 2001.
